Howard Communications Group provided a refresh for Fire District 84’s dated, letter-sized quarterly newsletter.

Fire District 84 (renamed) serves a small bedroom community outside of Seattle.
Howard Communications Group provided a refresh option for Fire District 84’s dated, letter-sized quarterly newsletter. Because of its size, the single-page, two-sided newsletter overwhelmed readers with too much text, and indiscriminate blocks of color further dated the piece.
HCG’s redesign focused on brevity. More concise content and visuals support the messaging.
Understanding this new purpose, summaries serve as an introduction that leads to a deeper discussion on the district’s website. The integration of printed and digital pieces serves readers of all content presentations.
The contemporary presentation integrates white space and content-rich graphics. The design also allows the reader’s eye to “breathe,” offering more concise and compelling messaging.
