Public Works Communications Refresh
Provides Brand Focus

Timber River Water and Sewer District (renamed) serves multiple suburban bedroom communities near Seattle.

Howard Communications Group designed a refresh option for the district’s somewhat dated, letter-sized semi-annual newsletter.

A professional layout, supporting images, and a defined polished brand were missing, so a refresh to the newsletter was clearly past due.

Before & After Comparison

HCG proposed that the newsletter shift to providing essential information, intentional graphics, contemporary images, and links to access the district’s website for more information.

Above, the center thumbnail includes Before and After images, providing a contemporary presentation for this piece. Integrating white space and content-rich graphics allows the reader’s eye to “breathe,” offering more concise and compelling messaging.

Understanding this new purpose, summaries can serve as an introduction to a deeper discussion on the district’s website. Integrating printed and digital pieces serves readers of all channel preferences.
