East/West Background: HCG’s Founder

Born and raised in Spokane, Tami enjoyed four seasons and skiing on northern Washington and Idaho slopes. In the summer, she waterskied on Deer Lake and Cocolalla Lake (look up that one!).

Life then led her to the west side of the mountains, where she continued the family’s legacy in education, teaching secondary English and serving as a class advisor, journalism teacher (WJEA award winner!), and even JV volleyball coach.

Educational Consultancy Begins

While on break from teaching, Tami consulted with local Seattle area journalism teachers, assisting with developing their programs. Even today, the AP Stylebook continues to be her constant laptop companion.

Thoughtful, clear content, excellent grammar, insightful audience awareness, and sensible, creative design drove her work.

Professional Services Marketing & Business Development

Those sought-after skills were then applied in the built environment, providing communications and business development services for architects and engineers.

Her understanding of communications, strategic planning, and marketing translated into significant multi-millions dollar public and private project wins.
